Is it worth getting a fuel filter on a near standard engine? I was looking at the £15 ones from mini spares.

Yes it is worth it.

it stops all the crud from the bottom of your tank reaching the carb. But dont buy one for £15, nip down your local motor shop and get one for a few quid, even halfords do them.

Yup they're fantastic things,... Put it in just before the carb. It will also help you out if you're buying cheap supermarket fuel that has sand in ... you'll see the particles it filters out in no time.

Im stuck trying to find how and where to fit my filter king filter!

I've fitted filters up in the rear subframe before, just after where the pipe comes through the floor, but on the van ive fitted one in the engine bay between the copper pipe and fuel pump.

Is'nt alot of room there though

rear subframe is probably easier, theres more room there to mount one. most likely the reason why rover stuck one there on the injection minis

yes but if you stick it on the rear subframe it just filters petrol as it comes out the tank,.. leaving the petrol free to pick up the years of crud that have built up in the pipes after it's been through the filter. pointless filtering it if it's gonna get dirty again.

Unless you're fitting brand new pipes too...,. in which case.... fit it anywhere.
