80lb or Psi?
My Smith gauge only read to 100lb so 80lb is excessive. If it's psi then 60 is more what you want for warm. When the engine is cold the pressure is always high.

i no. but i was asking what pressure yours goes up to when you START the engine.
So you mean the cold pressure, right?
If so then mine start at 60lb then drops to 40lb at warm.

i see, cheers for that mate. What are tim's guages measured in? mini's in garage, and its late n cold.
Ah, Smiths gauges for me. Very very old school all in pounds. For tippy top peak oil pressure then it's 80lb. But thats as high as it ever goes like downhill doing 6000rpm.
