I would get the proper Carpet and Sound insulation underlay first, then m,ake sure you have bulkhead insulation on both sides of the bulkhead... This will help LOADS, and makes your car feel a lot more comfortable to drive in etc. Money well spent in My opinion.

I went into B&Q and asked for flashing tape and they looked at me like i was insane....

So, is masking tape the same thing? because i've used that and it worked well! At least for the pruposes of deadening the boot rattling.

That's becuase unfortunatley,.. most large chain DIY shops dont hire people that know one end of their arse from the other.

Walk into a DIY shop, and find the oldest guy there you can.... then you have a good chance of finding what-ever you need.

or go to a proper builders centre. they should know what you are after. it will probably be cheaper than stuff from B&Q etc.

Good Mr Retro speaks the truth. But it's not always the oldest guy you want. My local nut and bolt shop the youngest guy there (okay, he's still 30-35 odd. So older than me) knows more about nuts and bolts than anyone.

But finding the oldest guy is normally the best bet. Or find a good little local shop thats been doing the work for years.
