if you have an MOT boked then you can drive it to the MOT. and then drive it home from there, or to another garage for repairs if it fails the MOT.

this has been covered lots in the past.

And the garage you book the mot has to be within a reasonable distance from the place the vehicle is kept, ie you wont get away booking an mot thats 100 miles away.

I believe that is slightly wrong. You can drive without an MoT to get to a pre-booked MoT test, but you can't drive without tax - even to that MoT test.

You will either need the garage to collect it or find a trailer. Someone with trade plates might be able to help out too.

no you can drive a car to an mot without tax if the car has been pre booked. i know this because i checked with the transport police when we took our car in however, if the car fails you are meant to leave it there to be fixed, you can only drive it to a pre booked mot, untaxed. You must however have your sorn declaration in case you are pulled over and insurance.
this cannot be a pre-mot check. it must be an appointment for a full MOT test.

I got this in writing because i was quite worried.
