Hi,
I have found a car for sale quite near me and am looking to view it shortly however the owner informs me that having had it serviced a few weeks ago there were a few problems that needed doing and are now done but the main one being that it needed a new rear subframe.
They say they have bought the new subframe and will include it with the car. As I am no mechanic by any means does anybody know how much it is likely to cost me to replace the rear subframe? - I live near Portsmouth in Hampshire so if you know of any good cheap mini specialist garages that would be a help although I have my usual one which is very reliable.
Thanks,
J

Not a difficult job, but it's not unknown for some of the mounting bolts to put up a fight or even shear.
It would be best to tackle it yourself as it would be a good idea to take the opportunity to clean up / restore the rear body work and suspension while it's out.
If it still seems too daunting to tackle on your own perhaps finding a mini enthusiast or mobile mechanic to give you a hand with the reassembly would be an idea?
