yer the shell is very good, its just the sills and A panels, ill go for a genuine 4.5" sill as minisport is close and sells them! or would you recomend elsewhere?

is there anything wrong with non genuine panels?

more complex non genuine panels can be the wrong shape,.. however, something as simple as a sill will fit fine, I used minisport sills on my clubman and they're fine.

use a 4.5 sill,.. but waxoil the inner sill before you cover it up and weld the new outer sill on.

I learnt to weld doing my sill  hasn't dropped off yet! If you're already handy with a welder and a grinder i'm sure you'll be fine

Make sure you distribute the weight of the car well along the floorpan & subframes to stop the shell bending when the sills off too...I used a big plank o' wood and 3 axle stands along the floor, thought it might damage the floor but it didnt! maybe I was lucky though?!
