Hi all

My poor mini is in such a state that i finally decided to fork out on some new panels for my front (i was at Sandon Hall yesterday and someone left me a note under my windscreen offering help with it the rust is that bad!!!)

Any way, i'm replacing both outer wings, front panel and scuttle. What order should i do these in? Should i take out my engine? Should i cut off all my front end and do it all in one go or a panel at a time?

I go to Uni in 3 weeks and so i need to get it done quite quickly.

I've never done anything like this before and so any advice is really helpful. I'm going to get a haynes resto. manual to help me out.

you can leave teh engine in.

as pics speak louder than words go and have a look at ratty's rebuild thread. i think it is called the ratty brown bomb rebuild or something like that. if you havent done it before you will be pushing it in 3 weeks but good luck.

is the scuttle really that bad or could you get away woth doing the ends only?


might be worth taking uo the offer.

Well this is all a bit stupid!!

Some reversed into my front end...yes the front end made entirely of rust which was hit at all at 5mph and th front panel to wing split and obviously theres nothing to weld a new wing on to!!!

So ive found the cost at a garage and it was £800 *gasp*

So i saw what parts i need and i'm charging him for them and buyng the rest myself!!

Anyway, ive managed to draft in some help now, help that knows what they are doing, i'll still be pushed for time but at least i know the work will be done well

Any way how can people be stupid eough to reverse into a parked car with someone sat in it
