I maybe just about to be buying ANOTHER mini as my project is going to take AGES. Im missing the mini bug and im getting SOOOOOOOOO bored of my grandad Rover 414 (either that or im having a quarter life crisis at 26 lol)

ANYWAYS...

I fancy lowering it and just stiffining up suspension maybe. Could you guys recomend the best way to do this?

Ive read about Hilo's. Can i just put these on or do you lot recomend changing the shocks to? Are these Hi-los easy to fit?

The car will have my 13" Star mags on it if i get it :withstupid:) Maybe ill have to do some slight arch mods?

Is it just a case of fitting the hilos and then just adjusting the ride to suit?

Any help is much apreciated, you guys are pretty clued up on this stuff so your my first pint of call ;-)

Quite dear arnt they? Im a bit skint. I dont want to go for the cheap option, but i dont want to go to drastic as im meant to be spening on me other mini :withstupid:

pint of call ;-)

Thanks. now I want a pint. >_<

Hah you reckon a 414 is grandad? I'm driving a £200 Citroen ZX 'til the minis alive again! A mate once remarked it was the greyest car he had ever seen...

yup I'd use hilos for lowering ...as far as stiffening is concerned I'd keep things fairly supple for a road car. Rubber cones will be fine but some nice shocks may give you the effect you're after :withstupid:

You will need to change the shocks anyway if the car is lowered by more than a tiny amount. Get the hilos, set the ride height and read calver's article up on the minispares website about dampers and lowering

Lowered on starmags will defo need arch mods.

Cool, thanks for that. Ill have a read :D

I suppose maybe then, a happy medium would be to purchase some uprated shocks along with some hilos.

Then i suppose ill have to cut the arches too suit. Hmmm.....ill have a closer look if/when i get this car home as it has wide arches on it already :withstupid:

Cool. CHeers, thanks guys >_<
