Chrome rings can be bought from the link posted above by "retro Dash". Read the thread before you post. :D

The dash does look really good. I made all my dash boards in all my minis "back in the day". When you say you are installing a screen on the right hand side, Are you just going to bolt the screen straight to the dash?
Surely it being "that" visible would put you off parking it in town etc. I had a motorized screen built into a head unit in my old mini.

Just for an idea, why don't you build a glove box into the new dashboard. But instead of having a hole behind, Just blank it off inside the door, but set it back about 2". Then mount your screen onto the set back "Blanking" board behind the glove box. So you open the glove box and your screen is in there.

I had a glove box in my first mini, Then when I got my 2nd and 3rd minis, they were glove box`less and I really hated it. Well, until I fitted metro Door bins that is.

But yea, Does look pretty damn cool. I love white "Black" parts on any vehicle. Scootays for example! :)

with regard to the screen, not really thought of it yet, when money becomes available i will get ideas flying round my head, the car itself is a weekend car i have a every day car and so has my gf. the car will be used for show and weekend fun, not going to be parked up anywhere dodgy as it were. also it will be stored in a garage.

cheers for your idea though, i will keep it in my head.

With fun mate, when you take the dash off there are 3 bolts think there 11mm ones, one dead centre and one either end of the rail, take them off and then you have to pull the front forward and up, then the back comes up and forward :lol:_

the one in the middle is easy to find mate, it is dead centre, the ones on the sides are above the fans i think, pretty straight forward to be honest.

let me know how you get on.

Do you have to take the windscreen out to get the top dash rail out? I was told the screen holds it in?
