What Colour Speaker Wires?

Coming out of the back of the headunit, or rather the back of the loom which plugs into the back of the head unit, are a pair of purple wires, and a pair of green wires. These were originally crimped to the two pairs of speaker wires going to the parcel shelf speakers.
I am informed that the above head unit is a 4-channel one and would like to run all 4 speakers off it without buying any additional equipment (amp. etc).
Does anyone know what colour wires are supposed to come out of the back of that head unit and used for the extra 2 speakers.
Just remembered there is a pair of White/Grey Grey/White wires coming out of the back, which are taped up. If these are the only two pairs left (apart from an odd Brown single wire) I take it these are additional 'speaker out' wires, so I can wire up the new speakers to these?

if its something like that then theyre speaker wires, and the unit you have is a 4 channel.

there should be 2 pairs of wires, each pair the same colour, but one wire of the pair should have a black or white stripe on it. e.g purple and purple/black and green and green/black.
if its something like that then theyre speaker wires, and the unit you have is a 4 channel.
If there's 4 channels though surely that means there should be 4 pairs of wires altogether?
Without looking, I'm almost certain I have:
Purple + Purple/Black
Green + Green/Black
The existing rear parcel shelf speakers have been working off those. And...
White + White/Black
Grey + Grey/Black
Those 2 pairs are tied up.
I take it that those last two are speaker outs, so I can wire those to the new front speakers then?
The only other wires spare are, I think, there's a single blue and a single yellow and a single brown, which are capped off with a rubber cap as if they've never been used. I don't think they all come out of the loom plug either, one or two may come out of the wiring 'towards' the loom, if you get me.

use the white + white/black and the grey + grey/black. you might find that the rear speakers are connected to the front outputs, although that doesnt matter a great deal. just make sure you get the wires the right way round, so that when you set the balance control to the left, only the left hand speaker works etc. otherwise it all sounds a bit odd.
Great stuff, thanks a lot

Originally I was going to just have the two new front speakers, because I was told that I'd need a 4-ch amp to run all 4. Unbeknown to me I already have a 4-ch head unit

Off I go to Halfrauds tomorrow for some new speaker wire (the old stuff for the rear speakers is jointed in about 5 places!), and another hour or 4 spent sticking bullet connectors on, and experimenting with the Right/Left Front/ Rear Balance.
Cheers
