seen several bonnets with the rear(scuttle side) raised about an inch or so so that its open,

how is this acieved? would like to have a go!

I think, when you bolt the bonnet down, you only use the front 2 bolts and rest the back 2 on the bolts so when you close its not touching

At least thats what i think :-

or you can use bonnet pins.

I'v seen it done with bonnet pins but not with a standard bonnet. So do people do it to allow better cooling?
