all the new cars now adays are slightly bigger than their previous model, they treat it as a selling point

While the picture shows a good comparison in size between the BMW Mini and Classic, if this thread turns into yet ANOTHER new vs. old argument, or a 'lets *woman of ill repute* off the BMW Mini' then i'll be deleting it quicker than a quick thing

It is funny the BMW is called the mini when you compare the classic and the new side to side. The new isn't exactly "mini." There are quite a few Japanese cars that are smaller than the BMW but not near as small as the little wonder brick that started this international change of thought in the automotive world. Both have positives and negs. I wouldn't mind having both but I think I'll get my classic first... if not 2 classics first.

They should give it its real name - The BMW 1 series, and then rename the other small beemer (with it's real name..) the 2 series.
