Help, I have twin air horns but every time I use them they start with a feeble toot and then just wheeze. I've tried adjusting the plastic tubing so there are no kinks but with no success.
Anyone got any ideas how I can fix them?
If not, any ideas where I can get a decent loud horn - need it for my commute round the North Circular Road every day.
Many thanks

Is the compressor running from the original horn wiring?

As far as I could see, yes. Would this cause the problem and does it mean a bit of rewiring?
Many thanks

Find the inlet port of the compressor ans squirt some oil in there. put a little in the supply hose as well.
This is a routine maintenance item for air horns

I've never had to oil air horn compresors to be honest, but I have found the wheezyness to be due to poor electrical connections. The compressor uses a lot more juice than a standard horn and can struggle to get enough power down the existing wire. It is better to run these from a new circuit on heavy cable using a relay connected into the original horn system to trigger it.

Aye, get a relay on that thing.
...be MUCH louder then.

Tried the oil today and worked a bit better but not as I had hoped. Will try the new circuit and see how that works.
