Front Mounted R1?

interested in swapping my standard a series with an R1 lump and keeping it FWD to save on the hassel of cost.How difficult and problematic would this be?(not counting performance and handling)

Mine runs a front R1 and retains all four seats. Wil be featured in a magazine in a few months with all the relevant info and also at Castle Coombe come and have a good look if it helps. :!:

thanks for the help people.how did you get around the trouble fo no reverse gear?electric motor?

I don't have a reverse gear. It's not a big problem just needs a helping push now and then!!! :cry:

you dont - once the R1 engine is in the mini weighs hell of a lot less so you can simply push it backwards.

simple example - engine that came out was an a series 1380 - needed 2 mates to help move.
carried the complete R1 engine gearbox carbs etc from the back of the wifes car to the garage on my own - not even a strain.

Agreed, reverse is for wimps!!

I think you need one for racing tho, Pahhh :cry: :)
