Whats The Standard Carb On A 998?

as title says realy, whats the standard carb? and what could i replace it with?

whats better than standard for performance on my ickle 998?

HS4 generally standard.

Replace it with an SU HIF38. Will make quite a difference to the smoothness of the throttle and of course it's got an Internal float which wont starve your engine on 'severe' corners like the old side float SU's, generally the HIF range is a much nicer carb and more modern carb....

You'll need a new Inlet manifold though.

Oh and you'll need a rolling road set-up to get it running lovelies.

cool cheers retro, i know of some one selling a brand new hif38 so i'll probably get that then.
