Hello all! I started work on my mini this week and have managed to get it running, i basically serviced the engine and played around with a few bits and bobs then fired it up and she runs treats!
Theres alot of work that needs doing to it ( like floorpans, brakes, suspension etc )

I would like to start getting some new bits for the engine as its looking pretty sad and battered, starting with a decent carb set-up.. Would i be able to fit twin 1 1/4" carbs to a standard 998cc or do i have to upgade other bits?

*sighs*

David Vizard - How to tune the A Series engine.

It will tell you EVERYTHING about tuning.

Also, twin 1.1/4inch carbs will fit fine.

Ah don't worry about it. I'm just a miserable git. The Vizard book will give you LOTS of info for tweaking your 998. From carbs to cam choice to block work.

Adam to the rescue :)

Actually, I might do a topic about which literature is worth reading and pin it at the top of technical and problems.

Oooh, another good read (though old) is 'How To Modify Your Mini' but Captain HTMYM doesn't have the same ring to it as T-BASE!

Think someone did a topic on basic tuning a while ago. Then it vanished into the depths of the forum.
