Hi, I'm quite new too the technical side of cars in general, i've started tinkering around with a mates land rover mk 2 1967!, and now i got my hands on a 87 mini, it's started to get fun!.
Well the Qu!
My bro took the mini to the rolling road a few weeks ago and i got 70bhp off the fly wheel and 30bhp on the wheels...My dad says its the gearbox among other things...would it be a good idea to go to a straight cut gearbox?! (v.pricey i no!!)
thanks, Luke.

Wow, 40bhp lost in the transmission, i doubt the gearbox should be working!!!
Something is not right with those figures, never seen a transmission loss like that!!
Oh and iff its a 998 its deffo not 70 at the flywheel unless its had lots of work and a racey cam
Did you get a rolling road print out??

Sounds like a bit of flannel by the RR operator 30 at the wheels sounds about right for a fairly standard 998. Flywheel horsepower is just an estimate at best.

LOL thats some estimate its more than double the wheel figure. Mostly people recon on about 28bhp max loss
