[B]Hi - has anyone bought a set of 7" spot light kit from Huddersfield mini spares? i bought the set in the picture in sept 04 and within 4 months they are full of rust and steaming up, has anyone else had the same problem? i thought they would make my mini look good, seen as Huddersfield mini spares are not responding to any of my emails about this matter i have found another use for the lights i will put a yellow bulb in and stick them on the side of a skip so know one drives into it!!/B]

I get the same problem with my spots. Were they cheap? because the cheap spots usually the ones to steam up.
I took my lenses off and wiped all the water out of them. I also use autosol every few days to get the rust off the chrome. If you attack it before it gets deep, it wont be a problem

Thanks for that, Binge. I need to treat the underside of my spotlamps (dunno where they came from) and also the rear short bumper bars which get bad rust spots every winter. I assume road salt has something to do with it?I also use autosol every few days to get the rust off the chrome.

do they do stainless steel spot lamps?
did you have a warranty when you bought the spots?
does make it look nice with the spots

If after spots try Stafford Vehicle Componets, www.svc.com it think, they are not that cheap but I use their spots and headlamps. 6 months and still perfect. Oh, I just wash the car and still fine.

This is the email Hudderfield mini spares sent me
Hi
Just come out of a meeting and it appears that these lights have proved to
be faulty in that the chroming has not been produced properly and is proving
to be a problem. You can either send the lights back to us or we are trying
to rectify the matter by having stainless casings made for them. This will
probably take us about 6-7 weeks. What we are suggesting is that if you
want to keep the lights, we can send you the uprated casings free of charge
when they arrive, to replace your original ones.
I have now got my £129.99p  refund the shop said they have had 3 more sets returned with same problem :nugget:
