Sorry to all the people i promised update pics to. Car has been in 2 weeks and so far has just got a few coats of build primer.

I have 'moaned' to the painter but he made excuse after excuse about paint codes etc etc then inconsiderately got the flu on Monday... so a bit fed up. I hope hes better soon. Hopefully will be ready saturday.

On a better note, mini trimmings matched the carpets to the paint and to the seats, its a berber carpet i think she said and will cost £160 for 10pce plus mats (14pce). Its a gorgeous colour and superb quality I am really chuffed. (I have a sample)

No reply from the seatbelt people i emailed yet... but will follow up by phone next week.

Got another engine as a backup, collecting on sunday so thats a bonus, comes with everything.

Emalee is doing my interior, bless her, (shes a godsend) which is also about ready. Then i can get that all fitted the following weekend.

OK questions, how do i discover the size of my allys to fit new tyres all i know is they are 12"
and also I have dash etc plans but the one for the armrest makes no sense as there are no measurements, can anyone help there?

Moaning now over, and looking forward to getting him finished! KC

Read the side wall of the tyres, should say something like 165/60/R12. That's width, tyre profile and wheel size.

:gimme:

Well if they're 12" wheels made for a Mini then they should be 165/60/R12 but you can also fit 145/60/R12 I believe. Don't take my word for this though, would be better to ask someone who actually knows what they're talking about so I'll shutup now...

I believe you measure between the inside faces of the rims an inch either way won't reallt effect your options.

I've got 5x12 superlight wheels with 165 tyres on, but you can put 145's on them(they look too skinny!)
I think yours from what I remember are about the same size :gimme:

durr, tyres are rubber therefore flexible.

if you want wide tyres go for 165, if your wheels are 12 inch then you want 165/12.

the width of the rim doesnt really mater, the tyre will push in or out to fit, it's only when you go extreme wheels widths that you will have a problem.

the thing you need to worry about is the tyre fouling on the suspension or body work, not if it will fit on the rims.

So let me get this right, and this isnt me being ar*ey by the way, but, you're having a full respray, custom carpets and seatbelts. No doubt some fancy pants seats... and your making your own dash? You do know these things are guaranteed not to fit?
