Ofcourse, its the mini's son, based on his genes! Hes faster than his old man!

I bought mini mag today for its feature on the Z cars yellow mini.

Awesomely impressive car, very jealous. Anyway my point is, is this the fastest mini?! Im just curious to see what other people think this might be...

Its a hard one when you blur the lines and start putting the engine else where etc. And the article does actually say this. I don't know if i care that much but seems like worth a talk!

Nice one Z cars!

Fully Spaceframed Monte Carlo racer - mid engined rear wheel drive Hayabusa custom Garrett ball bearing turbo, intercooled - 360+ BHP.

10" racing slicks in the rear.

Uses headlights, turn signals, taillights, steering rack, wipers / motor, windscreen, door handles, latches, and hinges from a Mini - not much else.

I call it a Mini since mine is almost identical to this car (this car having some suspension updates, etc), and I own a Mini :)

be interesting to see this against Stuart Meads' Zetec turbo, 600 bhp, auto box, and tax and test in the glovebox so you can do high 9 quarters on the way to Sainsburys....

I like it and its very impressive as an engineering project.

But not sure where I stand yet on the is it a mini debate. I need to be convinced.

Thanks Pinch, but I think the only mini that is going to come near in the forseable future is the one were now building, & when that one beats me i'll sell mine & start my new prodject.
By the way 650 bhp & 9.62 @ 146 mph is what everyone has to beat at the moment but the goalpost can be moved a little more yet, ( we have more in hand).
I look forward to some more competition & love entertaining you guys thanks for the interest.

It won't even get close to your times Stuart !! It takes a massive amount of power to run those kind of times...NOT to mention a near perfect set up !!! >_<

Not only is this probably faster, its more of a mini than the Monte Carlo. However personally I favor the Monte Carlo Z car as im a sucker for Z cars and drivability/practicality. None the less i guess this rest my case you win Stu

Next question is it a real mini with Z max! >_< jk

Hi Stu

I've always loved your mini. I'm sure i saw it some years ago at Santa Pod when the commentator at the time got you to hold at the side so you could race a bloke in his Lamborgini Diablo??? Was that you? I feel sure it was a green RWD mini that was chuffing quick!!

Now I don't mean this to sound funny or anything, I'm mainly curious as I don't know too much about the set up of your mini. But being as it's being compared to the monte carlo does your mini handle? Or is it mainly set-up for the drag strip?

Obviously the two don't always go hand in hand.

  :dontgetit:

Different league tho mate, imagen a monte with 650bhp, if traction was good then it would be in the 8s, in theory, so bit unfair like  lol
