Are rose jointed arms & tie rod too harsh for road use on a road, not track focused Mini? My gut feeling is yes.

Yes.
Also once they wear they rattle and do your head in.

I know Dan Webster and Purple Tom both use rose jointed suspension on their road minis.

I also use them, they are fine, and like anything, they need maintaining, If they wear, they wear, as anything!I know Dan Webster and Purple Tom both use rose jointed suspension on their road minis.

OK, would the wife think they are fine, as she also drives the car.
Us blokes seam to put up with things if we feel it makes the car nicer to drive, birds don't seam to see the point.

A well setup suspension outweighs all the -ve's

im going to be using rose joints on my road/track mini.. in fact i may well have some KAD tie bars and minispeed ultimate bottom arms for sale soon due to a slight change in direction... *cough*

Purple Tom both use rose jointed suspension on their road minis.
Toms was a right fiddle to setup due to the design of them - look carefully at how the adjustment mechanisms work!!
