evening all
sorry for bringing up and old topic but.. what sort of paint do you use to paint your engines?
i don't want to use spray paint as from personal experience i find it just doesnt look good, i want to paint it on thick so it lasts a while.
also what colour engine do you think would look good with a red exterior?
the blue mini looks good with a red engine...i think i might try this so i have a blue engine with a red mini.
Or maybe blue sump area with yellow head. It has to stand out
While i have the engine out, im also going to try to clad the engine bay with alu chequer plate (if i can get hold of some).
Thanks
Kane

i always use japlac you can buy this from most hardware stores and it covers great, its not as cheap as hammerite but has a far better finish.

plenty of car shops sell proper engine paint in a variety of colours, or as an alternative, barbeque paint looks good, in a sort of satin black.
