Does anyone have a problem with winding the door window up and down? I mean mine on both sides are really stiff, and i hear a few bangs sometimes when winding up. Compared to a more morden car without electric windows, mine seem to be really stiff, not sure if al minis are like this or not?

The winders on minis have a habit of going rusty as the widow seal is not that great. Also the runner attached to the bottom of the window can rot out which means the window does not rise and lower in its channels properly (on an angle) which can make it tight as well.

You will need to take the winder mechanism out and give it a good greasing. I don't advise it though if you can live with it as it can be a swine of a job.

I once got home from work, went to do the window up and it jamed, so I got the toolbox out, only to see that the runner had come off, took me about 1 hour to get it back on! was really small and anoying to get my hands in, dont think im gonna be touching them! I would like to buy the electric window kit tho, anyone got that fitted?

I had to replace the Off-side window channels as they'd rootted and dropped off. Minispares do the channels with the rubbers for attaching them to the bottom of the glass. Give the windoe mechanism a good spray-lube. Generally, they're C**p anyway.
