It'd would be such a shame for this to be the end of the bean.
He's got through so much.
I see where you're coming from though a heritage shell would cost a bomb
And probably wouldn't be worth risking the reshell even if you managed to get a '71 shell so it looks original.
What panels would he need replacing if you kept his current shell?

yeah heritage shells are waaaay too much, and if i was soending that much i'd get a fibreglass one anyway.... minus bean... hmmm....

i'd be screwed if they found out about the reshell.... that really would be the end, or a Q plate..... i really dont want one of those...

its not all finalised anyway.... i never had to 'buy back' the bean from the insurance company.... they just gave me a value... if i was to repair him i would need a new rear subby and radius arm, then the rear quarter would have to be replaced, but if the heelboard has been affected i really dont want to go there...

i have been offered a shell from a car that was stripped and it was reshelled into a heritage shell, so perhaps if the certificate is still around i could say oh look at my new heritage shell... lol

i have been offered a mk1shell with logbook too, so both of those are on the cards at the moment... it will technically still be the bean with his engine an all his subframes etc but a new reg....

anyway... still need my money first...

I guess if the subframe and radius arm are pretty bent the heelboard could be trouble.
The mk1 would be good, it is a shame to lose his reg and everything but i guess it's keeping him alive in the parts.
And then you would have had a mk1 a mk2 and a mk3!
If you got the mk1 do you reckon the plans might change too?
Have to go 60's!
Anyway yeah hopefully the insurance settlement gets sorted and everything soon.
Look forward to some news.

Well done on finding a shell. Is the turbo going on the 1098? Looks like a good buy.

Should be interesting. I don't think i've seen a 1098 turbo before. Are you uprating the internals? Or is that for you to know and us to find out? :D
