I have a 1977 clubby and it has hardly any rust at all apart from A-panel i have been quoted £450 for shotblasting the shell. As i am not intending to get rid of the car i want to do a good job of it so it is still nice in years to come. Is this a good price for shotblasting the hole shell or does anyone else know of somewhere else i can get it done cheaper near the Gatwick, Crawley sounding area? Thanks

Aaron

I'd say shotblasting would be an unnecessary expense if there isn't any rust bar the A-panel?

But cutting either replacing or patching the panels will get rid of that rust, you don't have to shotblast your shell to do that?

Shot blasting is when someone use a high presure jet like that blows sand or fine granuls at the body and it removes all the paint and grime away and leaves the body down to bare metal

But, if the metal is beginning to, or is, rotten then it can remove that metal too, and can leave your shell looking like a tea strainer! :dontgetit: Some people have said it can weaken the panels too, but I'm not sure?
