Here's a notice of interest to tmf-ers in East Anglia:
"Please note this run is for Classic Minis only, thanks
On 24th April 2005 HAMOC will be holding its third Huntingdon to Hunstanton Run, this year however all profits from the run will go to Sue Ryder Care at Thorpe Hall in Peterborough. It is with deep sadness that I report the passing of HAMOC member Keith Horsler, without his tireless efforts in the beginning to repair and restore my Mini’s I would not have become the enthusiast I am today and as such there may never have been any HAMOC. I thought it would be nice to donate all profits from this years Huntingdon to Hunstanton run to ‘Sue Ryder Care’ at Thorpe Hall, where Keith spent several weeks. They looked after him really well, and even got him well enough to come home for Xmas.
For your £12 entry fee you will receive a run plaque and an 8”x 10” colour photograph of your car, if you’d like your photo framed that will cost an extra £3. Please note that all plaques will be given out on the day at Huntingdon just prior to the run. Plus if anyone wants to make an extra contribution to the charity or can't make the run but would like to donate something they of course can. As usual we will meet at Brampton Hut roundabout on the Sunday at around 9:30am and will be setting off at 10am sharp. Once in Hunstanton you will be able to spend the day however you choose, but please be aware any car parking charges will be your responsibility.
If anyone would like an application form please email me you name and address to [email protected] , please only request a form if you are really interested as it will take profits away from the charity to send out too many for people that don't end up joining in.
Entry forms must be received back no later than 5th April
If you'd like to know more about previous years runs then check out the show reports section (under Events) of the HAMOC website www.hamoc.co.uk"
HAMOC is my local club... Huntingdon Area Mini Owners Club.
It's a worthwhile cause, with a good day out at the seaside, and a good way to stretch the 'legs' of your cars!
You can also PM me if you want any more info!

I can have a word with the club about Bini's... can't promise anything, but they want to raise some dosh for the hospice... they might be willing to let the new boys play!

If that is the club opinon it is fine. Just because I don't agree with it is no reason to change it. I don't have a new mini, I just oppose the view about not allowing new ones out to play with us as well, they have the same interests and the cars swell the amount of money being made for charity and the New Mini driver sthat come out with us have been a great bunch.
I know you get the majority on the road that don't knwo about the whole Mini thing, but the New Minis that come on these runs really do know and care about it. Give them a chance, they love it as much as us.

Hi JamesM
As I have said -everyone is free to go where they want.
I do know that this run collides with the Suffolk Run that the Bury Club are doing, they are raising money for a childrens charity and I think the majoirty of people from the club wanted to do thie one, I think I sent you details??
Both of these runs are for worthy causes tho!!

You know Dad will want to take the drop top out there, he is all excited about picking it up.
Is that the form you emailed me over the weekend? If so then I will fill it out and we can take Spu.
will get it back to you before we go skiing.
