Really?

To be honest I'd say it's more to do with the fact I ignored when the mechanic told me in April to get a new exhaust mounting fitted... and after having to drive over 80 speedbumps a day since April, the rusty mount and the rubber shock-mount have finally given up!

I only took the speedbump at about 15mph and it was one of the 'straight across' type not the cushion type.

I'm with you redhotmini :ermm:

lol the halfords near me has one of those really bad plastic bumps, its only bolted down. no matter how careful you are the exhaust catches so someone went there at night and unbolted a few sections of it.

we've got a steep speed bump at college that is fine one way but not the other, my old escort had an encounter with 5 people in it, i was not going fast but it took my back box clean off, when i complained they said i could not do anything as it is not a public road!
the mini is usually o.k though as i don't cram 5 people into i

thats the one thats been 'modified' at my local halfrauds. its right on a blind bend as you come off the dual carriageway so you either skid over it as youve spotted it to late or take a chance and bang over it at 60.

Yeah, if its private then its for you to take up with the owner of the road  not usually easy.

My exhaust isn't catching on anything, the mountings just snapped... there was one metal bracket past the 'last' box.. and one rubber shock mount at the rear which I must say is TINY and was going to snap off one day... both of them just completely broke :P luckily it's still connected at the engine end (manifold?) so it's held on by cable ties at the minute tillI can get it sorted properly!
