I think it may fail, all depends on the tester.
my old mans rover had a blowing manifold and it failed, all i did was put some exhaust putty over the crack then replaced the heatshield.
he`s still driving around like it 5 months later.

If any part of an exhasut system is blowing it should fail an m.o.t
But as you say, its up to the tester

Not quite sure thats true stretched, but then it might be one of these interprutation things. I had a blowing exhaust join on my MR2, but because it didn't affect the emissions it was ok for the MOT.

Just been on UKMOT.com website and found this:
a. check the exhaust system for leaks
b. Note: A durable repair to an exhaust system which effectively prevents leaks is acceptable providing the system is structurally sound
c. Note: A minor exhaust leak from, for example, a connection joint or a pin hole, is not a reason for rejection.
So you might get away with a blowing manifold

You could always take it down to your MOT guy and ask him/her?

Clean it off with a wire brush and stick some JB weld on it, works a treat.
