Bit of and odd one and JUST an idea.

Been looking around for a compressor and spray gun to spray the mini with, few problems, cost and space to keep/use it. Which is when I found this…. An electric spray gun, would save the space problem I have as it doesn’t need a large compressor, but would it really be suitable for automotive spraying?

No. Wouldn't even touch the garden fence with one.

We have tried the garden fence with one and it failed. Miserably. :P

Generally, I'd agree with Panelbeter :P don't bother.

However.....

There is one make I have found to be excellent or at least, much better than the rest,.. they're called Earlex,... You'll want one of the Earlex 'spray stations'

Seen plenty of Landrovers, MGB's, And a midget done with them, and to be honest,.. I thought it was a very good finish indeed and probably something that a little practice,.. could seriously match a Nice respray done with compressor and gun. Comes with lots of different nozzles too

The only real problem I've heard of with the Electric guns (and this doesn't apply to the earlex) Is that they can get quite hot causing problems with the paint.

I Have a mate with an Earlex,... Might give a test panel a go perhaps and report back...

I'd be very interested to see the results! and without polishing! just out of the gun. You can get a nice finish with a brush if you polish it enough :P

I think that is where the real difference appears P/Beater,... The finish from a compressor gun just seems to beat all in the right hands.

P.S> mind if I Pm you about some bodywork?...

I used an older version of this to spray a motorbike, surprisingly it didn't do a bad job..

i sprayed a old fiesta in mat black with one of those last year.
it was a electric one but mine was much bigger than that and by the looks of it better made.
i just used mat paint and thinned it and it covered really well,

much better than hand painting with coach paint and the like.ie gloss

You could apply matt black with a spoon and it would look okay :P
