Evening all. I think it's about time I got a steering wheel lock for the min, what type do people use? Bearing in mind I've got an 11 incher (Hello ladies) so I doubt if a disclock type would fit.

Cheers!

Pete

I've got the standard Stop-Lock arm, but I know that it's easily removed if the crook saws through my steering wheel.

But just having it fitted means they'd have their work cut out anyway and will hopefully leave it alone.

Yeah but they are expensive and make the steering wheel stick out further. I'm 6.4, there isn't enough room as it is! Plus I don't want to have to carry a steering wheel around with me

Yeah that's the type I'm thinking of. It's just to put off any opportunists. There are alot of chav type idiots around where I live!

step 1: find brown marker and toiler paper
step 2: draw stains on toilet paper
step 3: place on steering wheel

step 4: find that some drunk / chav has taken a dump on your car.......!

What you need is a drawing pin in the seat base...........and connected to the HT leads on the coil (would have to be up early in the morning, to stop your neighbours freaking out at the crispy critter sitting / smoldering in the drivers seat.......).

OK....a real idea........uhm..........a "quick release" type pin setup on the gear change rods - can't go far without getting into gears! Not sure if that is legal or not if parked on a road though - might raise a few questions come MOT time too. would certainly work though!

Even without sawing through a steering wheel those locks can be removed in less than a minute.

I'd use a decent motorbike chain and padlock (Kyptonite are good) around the steering wheel and something immovable.

if you don't have a nice set of wheels get your own car boot.... 50-70 quid from halfords.... Maybe a hidden fuel cut our switch.. Or the easier push button ignition (after the key is turned) or an ignition cut out switch .... All hidden of course...

Wheel clamp must be one of the best deterrents if you park on the road. A toe rag is going to look conspicuous fiddling around with that and even if they have a go at it they're less likely to damage the car trying.
