ok i was driving the car to work this morning when it felt like it was misfiring got about half a mile further and it cut out. retarted engine for it to do same again.

managed to get it restarted and limp home has anyone had the same problem or any ideas. its just had a new dizzy, rotor arm, ht leads, plugs, coil, points and condensor

only thing i need to check is to see if the plugs are oiled or coked up if its not that im stumped

What year is your mini? Sure you got the right coil? Could have burnt out your points with the wrong one.

What made you change all your ignition components in the first place?

I had something similar and it was a dodgy corroded connector going onto the coil. When I touched it, it fell off in my hand. Quick crimp of a new one and off I went. Started as a missfire then died. Am sure you checked your stuff when changing the coil but one might of been missed somewhere.

checked all connectors to the coil and replaced them all with new ones but still no joy.

baffling me now because i dont know if it is a fuel problem or the coil breaking down even though its only a month old

yeah i have put the old coil back on and it fires straight up but still same problem. cleaned the float chamber out and a bit of C**p removed from out of it but still same.

took the dizzy cap off and the points were very slightly corroded even though its only a month old!! i gave these a quick tickle and re-fit the car did run better but still have the same niggle but nowhere near as bad......

is it worth changing the dizzy cap and seeing if this could be the problem

Vacuum leak? Has the little vac advance pipe come off the dizzy/carb, or other breather hoses or maybe the servo take off from the manifold - if you have one? Worth checking those..
