Doors are heavy you'd need to add a fair bit of bracing. Apart from the holes the A panels are a different shape as the doors vary at the bottom.

As far as I know, to do it properly, you need:

Mk1 inner and outer A panels (theres 2, double skinned)

Mk1 hinges

Mk1 doors

To do it on the 'cheap' you need:

Mk1 inner A panel and later normal outer A panel

MK1 hinges

Later doors need to be drilled and strengtheners put inside.

doesnt anyone do fibreglass mk1 hinges? fake ones basically.

that way you can have the look, without the added hassle?

yeah, but i'm sure it can be done so that one slides over the other, they'd be hollow/thin so there must be a way of doing it??

i'm gonna go and give it a try!!!

hi there, we tried to do this, got a bodywork & fibreglass specialist on it but to no avail, the end result was pretty hideous and the sliding hinge invention did not work well either as they jammed constantly because mini doors never open the same way twice....lol
fake hinges require to much of a gap to make them look convincing.

One friend we have has had them airbrushed on (as in in paint) and they look amazing. you could try that as the results are quite realistic.
