Mark 1 Front End

Hi can anyone let me know what is required to convert my mark 3 front end to mark 1 grille and surround? Thanks in advance.

Remove the top grille section thats attached to the bonnet, grind down the spotwelds attaching lip, remove the lip, repaint over any bare metal. Remove old grille, fit new one. Bingo, bobs your uncle, etc.

So thats it then no requirement for a new bonnet or slam panel :P

Nope not really, you may have to drill new holes, in which case make sure you touch them in with paint to stop rust spreading! Good luck.

the old grill will be bigger than the mk1 grill

there might be some screw holes you need to fill and paint over >_<
