Hey guys/gals,
just a quickie on painting fiberglass.
I've got a set of the Avonbar w&p's with the white gel coat finish and plan to paint them the same colour as my car.
Does anyone have any tips on on how best to do this?
also, do i have the fitting technique right?; drill through arch on car, then tap the self tapper in through the arch extension into the car from the outside in? this seems like a simple job, am i right!?
thanks guys,
Tom

for painting sand the whole area with very fine (800 grade) wet and dry to get all the shine off then spray with plastic primer.
sand priner with the same grade about 800 grade till its nice and smooth and there is no orange peel.
now your ready to paint.

i would highly recommend using plastic primer on any fiber glass. normal metal primer can flake off after time.

Yup always use plastic primer for the reason stated above. There isn't any need for priming it after the plastic primer, unless there's imperfections on the surface. Oh and don't rub down plastic primer, just bang the paint on top of it.
