Don't know about anybody elses car but mine has been a comedy of errors, i bought a 1993 1275cc mayfair around the begining of feb, when i went to view it the body work looked ok, needed a bit of tidying up. handed over my cash drove the car away, the second i pulled up outside my house, my lights died! paid £70 to get them fixed, although problem not completely sorted got to take it back. Then i decide to take out the carpet and find 2 massive holes in the floor well one in the passenger a post should have looked there before hand and have just taken the sill gard off and half the sill came up with it! Now the starter motor has packed in, the alternator light won't go off and my electric fan does not work so i keep overheating! it has been a nightmare, but I wouldn't swap the car for anything, well maybe one that worked properly!!!!!!!

Welcome to the joys of mini ownership.... and know what you mean about body kits and sills... It's amazing what horrors can lie underneath...
Keep going, and it'll all come right eventually... .

Its a Mini - its part of the fun.
The best I've had so far is being able to switch between dip and main beam by hitting the wing top or driving over a bumpy road!

It is all part of the fun but I suppose at the same time its hassle you could do without! It is hard when you have just brought your pride and joy and you get it home and find something horribly wrong with it, I havent had it first hand (YET!) but have watched my boyfriend on a number of occasions losing his rag with countless Fords. That sinking feeling you get in the pit of your stomach.............not nice.
Like you say though......................you wouldnt change it for the world and thats how you know its not all that bad! Everyone has to learn from their mistakes, life is one big learning curve!

I didnt actually mean your car was a mistake to buy, what I meant was when you come to buy a new one (if you do) you will know what to look for.
It does look nice though and you have learnt through the process
