Got a parking fine yesterday in Blackpool.. Silly I know, I should have bought a ticket - But I actually did just forget completely about it..

Anywayyyy, I noticed today the VRM they have down is not my number plate .. It says ORW instead of URW .. Do I just ignore the fine as technically, that isn't my car?

If I were you (and been that lucky) I would leave it to the last minute of 'Pay before 14 days is up' or what ever it is, and then see/call them on day 13 or something and say it's not correct. See what they do if they do it in time.

Yes! The authority will have to go to DVLA to trace the owner, which obviously won't be you as the number is different! It won't match the car either...

That's what I thought.. The car it matches up to is a 1988 Fiesta Popular..

I was thinking if I phoned them and actually told them about their error, they'll fine me anyway.. So, I'm guessing I should leave it and hope for the best..

Quite lucky really - I only just noticed the error today..

DVLA say this;

Date of Liability 01 12 2002
Date of First Registration 01 08 1988
Year of Manufacture 1988
Cylinder Capacity (cc) 957CC
CO2 Emissions Not Available
Fuel Type Petrol
Export Marker Not Applicable
Vehicle Status Unlicensed
Vehicle Colour BLUE
Vehicle Type Approval null

Obviously it could still exist.. But it looks like it bit the dust in '02..

That would be amusin seeing th DVLA sort out this mess.

Maybe the traffic warden was just doing his job but liked minis. Ive noticed all traffic wardens seems to be doing the rounds in pairs now, so maybe he loved minis but had to look like he was doing his job ;)

I was thinking the same.. I mean looking at a phones keypad, O and U aren't even on the same number.. That's assuming they use the same type of equipment..

Either way, I just hope it doesn't bite me in the arse and I end up paying £60.. My own fault I know, but i like a bit of luck :P

Just say it was the wrong reg plate and say 1 letter was wrong. But don't tell them which.
