Well im not sure,

Some years ago my mini was restored (quite a bit of work) at a mini centre in Chester, now im not sure if its this one!

But it was fairly expensive and some of the pannels that had been replaced showed signs of rust 3ish years after, around the side repeater!

But it was about 5 years ago so even if it was that one it could ahve changed hands.

Where is it? On the way to Blacon by any chance?

I think that is the same one then.

As I said it was a while ago that my mini was done there so they could be completely different now.

I think if you look at some mini that they have worked on recently then that will be a good indication.

Ah righty... hmm..

Do you mean Mini thats in their garage that their currently doing work on?

Probably going to sound really dumb, but I don't think I could spot a good job from a awful job! unless it was really horrendous!! lol :)

Yes I did mean that.

Sounds familiar, Id not really know what to look for and sometimes they can look great painted but if they havent used rust protection and then paineted over it you can get the problem that I had.

I wonder if they offer a garentee on the paint work?? That might be a good way forward, worth asking.

I dont really indend to have the rust treated and filled, want to get new panels where they are needed, as i don't want it coming back through.

So that wouldnt be so much of a problem would it? But I would ask about rust thing, ideally want the insides of my new panels coated with.. something? hammerite?? i dunno, esp in the classic rust places, under headlights etc, as thats where its bubbling now...

Yeah and it would be worth asking about that.. :)

Yeah bit of a reply but Chester Mini Centre appear to have disapeared now, but I'd really advise against them doing it. Highly overpriced and workmanship is average at best.
