Madness, natch

Ive been driving in my car, its not quite a jaguar
I bought it in primrose hill from a bloke from brazil
It was made in fifty-nine in a factory by the tyne
It says morris on the door, the g.p.o. owned it before
I drive in it for my job, the governor calls me a slob
But I dont really care, give me some gas and the open air

Its a bit old but its mine, I mend it in my spare time
Just last week I changed the oil, the rocker valves and the coil
Just last week I changed the oil
Last week it went round the clock, I also had a little knock
I dented somebodys fender, he learnt not to park on a bender, ha ha ha

Ive been driving in my car, it dont look much but Ive been far
I drive up to muswell hill, Ive even been to selsey bill
I drove along the a45, I had her up to 58
This copper stopped me the other day, youre mistaken what could I say
The tyres were a little worn, they were o.k., I could have sworn
I like driving in my car, Im satisfied Ive got this far

I like driving in my car, it dont look much but Ive been far
I like driving in my car, even with a flat tyre
I like driving in my car, its not quite a jaguar
I like driving in my car, Im satisfied Ive got this far

The Who - The teenage wastland one (cant remember its proper name)

Had it on while doing the Italian job and now everytime I hear it it reminds me of driving the mini with my bro through the Alps!

Awesome tune!

Self Preservation Society, obviously.

Teapot, why does a song about a Morris Minor make you think about Mnis?

U2, Beautiful Day, because the the first time I ever took Rupert out after I passed my test, it was a gorgeous sunny day so I decided to just drive in a random direction, and that was on the radio. Was a good day ;D

My "Italian Job" soundtrack is a natural choice, but Something In The Air (1969) by Thunderclap Newman always makes me think of the Mini because that track was used for the 1989 Mini 30 LE TV advert that featured Twiggy i.e. "You Never Forget Your First Mini".

But the 1967 song "We Love You" by The Rolling Stones just seems to fit right, even though the original video (if that's what they called them back then) was about Oscar Wilde.

A lot of crazy Psychedelic songs from the late 1960's always brings the Mini to my mind and I used to love playing the last track on The Beatles album Revolver which was "Tomorrow Never Knows" whilst hurtling along in the Mini.

But a lot of Beatles classics seem to work too, just like this: -

The swinging 60's seem to go well with the Mini, but without wanting to sound morbid, classic T-Rex tracks like "Get It On" & "20th Century Boy" work well too.
