No Power Cap'in!

Seems I solve one problem and another if found shortly after.
Right the problem,
Trying to get a spark today, nothing. I have no power coming to the coil, nor to the dizzy, I have power on the 3 fuses in the box, apart from one, the top 35A one. put a power-probe onto it, shows I have no conductivity either, I have power in my ignition switch and the engine will turn over fine.
I have no brake lights, I know I had one side light working, but no main lights (didn't try high beam) my washers and wipers work fine, and fuel gauge works, thats all I've been able to try.
Had a mate round who know Minis like the back of his hand, even he is stumped. Is there a earth or something I've missed?
When I painting the engine bay, I just unplugged all that I could, and tucked the cables up under the scuttle panel, apart from the earth thats on the bulkhead web, as I couldn't undo the screw. theres no "loose" cables anywhere that I can see...
I have the white/black cable on -ve on the coil, and the white on the +ve. The wiring is correct to what we can see, fuse box is wired correctly, with all fuses ok....
Anyone give any hints/tips on how to solve this problem?

We traced it right back to the fuse, and then it kinda got lost in the loom.
Going to tow it to my mates garage later tonight, and spend a day on it again tomorrow... least he'll have more to our disposal at his garage.
Just bloody frustrating now, its so very nearly there....

I had similar problems, with my coil, as i couldnt get power out of it!
Bypassed the fault with a lil bit of cable for the sake of gettng it running (project) but it is somwhere in the Tachometer thats causing the problem.
Has the power suddenly gone ie was it all working ok before? Or is it a car u havent really looked at in a while, and are now starting to try again?
Good Luck

We traced it right back to the fuse, and then it kinda got lost in the loom.
thats why you use the wiring diagram
trace where the wire goes next and check power there, if theres power at 1 point and not at the next you know theres a brake in the cable

I've now put my new engine in, and started getting it going, put everything back where it came from (or so it seems) some parts have been replaced, like headlamps are now H4 rather than sealed beams, and a few dodgy spade conecters have been replaced.
I've also forgot to add, I have new points, and a new condenser unit in the dizzy, new rotor arm, new cap, so its vertually new, with the correct points gap too (0.40mm).
the coil is less than 3 months old too, and its the Lucus "gold" high output coil, so I doubt its the coil itself, it is bolted to the trasnfer case, rather than a head stub bolt if that makes any differ at all....
Theres a good earth on the engine, otherwise the starter wouldn't kick over... so I am stumped.

We were following a wiring diagram Geoff, thats how we got to the fuse, but we got it at the other end, the ignition switch, and theres power there....We traced it right back to the fuse, and then it kinda got lost in the loom.

The old man, and thee, took it all apart test each cable, WD40'd the conections, and we now have a spark at the coil (Main HT lead) went to try and get a spark at the plug, but the battaries died

But tomorrow, with a bit of luck, should be sparkling
