hi ive just fitted twin cooper carbs and they dont have the 2 pipes coming off the carbs to fit the breather into.ive got pancake filters and they have holes for the pipes to go into.

is there a kit or somethig i can buy with the pipes and y piece and a magical bit that holds the pipes into the filters.i think if i just push the rubber pipe into the filter it will fall out before i got to the bottom of the road.
thanks
jay

find yourself some short ends of copper pipe 3/8" i think haybe 1/2", cut 4 slots 1/2" down, sand around pan filter hole and push pipe through hole in pan filter and bend them down now apply solder and join pan and pipe , repeat with pan filter, now get lenght rubber or plastic pipe and y piece and join carbs to breather job done , should take 1-2 hrs, good luck........................ ;D

You'd do better to plumb the breathers in to the manifold.

I'd suggest possible remove manifold, drill and tap, fit and seal a threaded pip, or pipe fitting in, and attach breather lines to this.

Is probably better this side of the carb as otherwise it'll probably get into the filter, and the combustion gases will mess around with your fueling a bit.

I presume you have the pipes passing through the black seperator canisters still!?

I'm guessing the manifold has a tapping in point for a servo you could use. Tapping it in to the filter case wouldn't be as effective as there'd be less suction and any oil or other gunge drawn from the crankcase could clog the filter and carb.

thanks for that.

and your right, best thing is to connect it to the inlet. i dont know why i didnt think of that :)

the engine and all pipes are all standard apart from the twin carbs.
cheers once again.

If you connect direct to the manifold, i.e. have it so it goes bether canister>>pipe>>inlet then the engines going to rev through the roof.

You need this freaky disk shaped thing. If you've seen pics of old cooper engines their on the intake manifolds. Can't think what their called bu Dan mentioned them to me a while ago.
