Evening...morning....meh.

Anyway, just came back from my paint shop and got some thinners but I asked about clear coat cost.

The nice woman at the shop went and bough a 2 maybe 3 liter can of paint out with a cost of £17.95 on it.

Which seemed like alot. Or is that what I'm expecting to pay for the clear?

Just want to be sure I'm not getting ripped off a little.

Ta.

Well we have 5 litre tins of 2k fast laquer at work, and theyre somewhere between £40-£50 I think.

Depends if its good stuff or not? Got a name of the manufacturer?

I use Lesonal clearcoat, costs about £100 for a 5 litre tin, with hardener I think. It is pretty good stuff, but not the best. It's not always worth buying the cheaper types, they tend to lose their shine easily, and don't polish up too well. ICI and Glasurit are the dogs danglies, but horrendously expensive.

AAArgh not Omicron! actually the hardener is alright but use both the hardener and the clearcoat together and it's not very nice to use. Difficult to get a nice finish and dries with quite a dull shine. Sorry David..

I have to admit, that was hard work getting that laquer back on texture.

C**p, so it's expensive.

Lovely.

;D

Edit

Why does paint with no color cost so damn much anyway?

It's only as expensive as decent quality paint, per litre.

Well so far I bought primer. It cost a C**p load less than clear.

melons it. Maybe I should just sell up. Can't really afford to do much more anyway.

Yeah well primer is cheaper than topcoat. I thought you were going for a rat look anyway?
