got my twins fitted today and it drives totally different(i only took it 200 yards up the road tho).
much more torque and it can wheel spin now to.
the BUT is!!!! when trying to adjust the mix on the carbs and i push the pin think up the engine slowly dies and nearly cuts out.
i know what your guna say THE MIX IS TO WEAK but ive turned the mix screw nearly all the way down and it still almost cuts out.
im only pushing it up about half a mm.
im really confused about this.
i got new needles and springs from burlen fuels so i know they are the correct type for my engine.
any ideas??
cheers jay

might be a air leak on the throttle spindles

Do you have an after market exhaust fitted?
If you do that screws with the lift pin. Did for me anyway.
If you near me some time I'll let you borrow my color tune.

The throttle spindles (bit that the throttle cable is connect to) has two bushes, these wear the shaft and themselves out after a while meaning there's excessive play and more air added into the mix.

the throttle is a disk that turns to open or close the throttle
this disk spins on a shaft and the shaft goes through the carb body
the bushes where the shaft turns in wares out and air leaks in here

AHH THAT BIT...the carbs them self are in very good nick.there is no free play on any parts and everythig is smooth and very nice indeed.
it must be my exhaust system.

all twin carbs do that when you use piston lifter, what you need is a colour tune kit or a carb balancer so both carbs draw in same amount of air .........................
