im not saying there arent any other good places to tune minis up but i went to M.Lmotorsport on friday to get my mini tuned up and a needle built, its the second time ive taken a mini there and both times i have been soo impressed with the result, if anyones looking for a good place to get their minis set up then i highly recomend them. plus as im a bit of a novice with modified engines he explains what hes doing and why hes doing it. i was so pleased i thought it would be worth a mention on here.

AC Dodd doesn't always work there, but yea, its in Kent, sorta near Brands Hatch and Bluewater.

I've had Andy do work on my mini there... No tuning tho... He did a lot of engine work and repaired the rear of Phoenix from the first accident.

i spoke to them when they were at smd. they are NOT interested unless it has an su carburettor fitted. not a good attitude to have. i went elsewhere to have my engine tuned due to the attitude.

Thats not true in the least. AC Dodd (who doesn't actually work for them as I understand, he is just there a lot) is probably the best tuner of SU carbs in the business but they will still work on other Minis, they just aren't as comfortable with them. Their own racecar has existed with both SUs and a Weber and I think Vermin was running a Weber once. They have built Vauxhall and Honda powered Minis too. Maybe you were talking to AC, he prefers the SU.
MLM are the greastest IMHO. They used to be in Knockholt in Kent but I think they moved to Higham about a year back and I haven't been to the new place yet. My engine might be getting some attention from them soon as last time I was there (last summer admittedly) they were talking about creating me a nice new head. How many tuners do you know who would individually burette and machine each chamber to account for a half thou difference in crown height accross an engine, on an everyday driver? That's what they were talking about with me.

i had andy work on my car at smd.
it seemed to make a world of difference and now i understand why the car was overfueling.
seems a sound chap to me!
