You have to do a wee bit more than take a reading after you have turned the engine.. You have to give it a we bit of time to see if the compression drops.
If everything is OK, the compression tester will give you a reading in the green. If you can see the compression reading dropping on the testerer then that could be a problem with your piston rings or a crack somewhere.

yeah, i did the test over a month ago now but thanks anyway lol. all cylinders were fine and compressions werent dropping which i why i turned to the mixture and found a problem with my carb. now ive got a new carb its sorted that problem out but found another one.

engine tune has been done and now she runs beautifully. no misfiring at all. now all she needs is the new alternator. and this time its staying closed!

basically it was just too rich i think. he said it was still at around 11% CO which means i mustve done something wrong with the gas tester at home or it itself is a bit wrong. but yeah they got the mixture right and correctly adjusted the idle. he changed the spark plugs aswell because mine were odd. so it should all be sorted now. im not sure if they shaved my needle or anything because ive got a k&n cone filter on it and the last guy shaved the needle before i replaced it. but its all running fine now and very smooth. still bloody slow but that cant be helped.
