This 1974 original version is far creepier than the recent predictable slasher remake and it's on right now. It's on again later on Film 4+1.

You should really enjoy it and I'm old enough to have seen it at the cinema when it first got released in the UK. I was 9 years of age, I was so scared that I huddled into a ball and hid my face through most of it and I was then too terrified to go to bed for weeks after.

I was in trouble with my parents too, because me and a friend lied and hadn't said we were going to see a horror film. But back then they allowed anyone of any age into the cinema.

Anyway over 30 years on and I'm still traumatised and have a thing about attics.
