Just started building a new computer and this is taking up a lot of time had enough of the mini for now.
Never gone this far into a computer before and a lot of it is new to me. For those in the know sata raid set up 64 bit dual core running windows XP professional I’ve put a list below of what I got so far.
I was hoping to have the mini ready for spraying at my mates premises over the holiday period but as I'm working outside and the weathers turned wet I've got to be realistic and admit I’m not going to make it. There might be some good days in the mean time when I can work on it but I’ve been disheartened by a couple of things and this was the final straw.
I’ve been waiting since September for a three-piece charcoal dash to arrive from Mini Sport. The first one that arrived was wrong (a one-piece charcoal dash) but this was as much my fault as theirs due to a miss understood phone conversation after returning it and re-ordering I’ve waited until now to get one, and when I phoned to check whether mine had come in I was told that there supplier had made a boo boo with the order my dash was not in the order, I explained to the chap on the phone that I couldn’t wait for their supplier to re-send the order (may have been another three months) so I agreed to get the one-piece charcoal dash, the dash arrived and it’s a one-piece burr walnut dash. Yes I should have checked when I was on the phone what my replacement was I don’t blame them as such (they are dependant on their supplier) I’ll still use them it’s just so frustrating because it’s held me up with the inside you can’t plan anything. I'm not going to push it to try and get it ready as I’ll end up doing something wrong so I'm leaving the mini alone for a while then I can restart back at it refreshed and keen and I’ll do a better job of it?
Good luck to everyone Bah Humbug for Christmas but have a good one!

Computer Bits
XFX GeForce 8800GT 512 mb DDR3 PCIE dual DVI alpha dog XT edition
Gigabyte 800w ODIN PRO PSU
Thermaltake VA700BWA Shark case black with window
2 X Seagate Barracuda 7200.1 500gb 7200rpm s300 32mb
4 X Kingston value RAM 1GB 240 PIN DIMM DDR2 800MHz ub eecCL5
Austek AMD nForce 570 Sli Atx Audio Dual Lan Ddr11
AMD Athlon 64 X 2 600= AMD 3.GHz
I’ve ordered a further Seagate Barracuda 7200.1 500gb 7200rpm s300 32mb
So I can do a stripe mirrored set up
I’ll be using the Creative audigy 2 platinum set up from my old computer for sound, the original 19 inch CRT monitor, and until it’s decided which type of HD they’ll be using as a standard I’ll stick with the 2 IDE optical I’ve already got

No greasy overalls and a lump hammer fixes anything

Funnily enough I called in there today for a power supply lead (my local friendly pc shop are still closed) not finding what I wanted on the shelf I collared one of there so called techs, he said if it isn’t there we have USB leads and printer port leads & such over there (as a tech guy he should know that they were no good), I explained that I needed it to power my Audidgy sound card at which point he very enthusiastically told me all about his new sound card he bought and how the first one didn’t fit because he had got the wrong one because he didn’t have any room for it and how he had to change it for another one that did fit. I asked him if it was 6.1 or 7.1 and he didn’t know if he is a so called tech guy then god help us I wouldn’t let him put paper in my waste basket never mind my printer.
