Hiya
Me and my dad are doing one on these kits but do we have to re register it on a Q plate? Or can we keep the same reg?

Moved to Gen Chat. This has been asked before...
Technically, you need to have an SVA test. If you use all brand new parts, and a reconditioned engine, then you can get a new Reg plate, if you use second hand parts then it'll probably be a Q plate.
Have a word with your local MOT garage though, tell them what your doing. If they say they'll MOT it then you could just do that...

both Ade and Pete kept their reg numbers when they did their conversion
i think it depends if you think the car needs a SVA or a MOT its a gray area

Well we are using a second hand engine but everything eles is going to be new.. iv had a look on the internet and i found a site saying if you keep two major parts you dont have to re-register it.. what is classed as a major part?
