When u take pics of your mini, its usually of the car in its best state. I took this in August 2006.

Fast forward a year and a half and things are not looking so rosey. Bits of rust here and there, paint chips etc. A new paint job and body work was needed.

16th December 2007:

Step One, I went to work taking all the shiny bits off:

21st December 2007:

Step Two, body work is rubbed down and debadged:

28th December 2007:

Step Three, the bonnet lip is removed and the numerous bits of rust are being dealt with:

Step Four:

Well, that depends on how much work gets done over the next week!

I will update as soon as I can!!

Hi,

New to this and thinking of getting a mini to do up. How do you go about sorting the rust like the patch near to the window in your pic? Looking good, are you spraying it red again? (I like the red!)

A darker red with a white roof, i will keep the door cards although they were very wet.

Here's a pic of the roof lip, I've asked for the lip to be cut down slightly:

Ahh, should look v nice. How do you go about sorting the small patches of rust when they're on the edge of the window. (I mean the 8th pic down, it's the close up one)

Well, its gonna be cut down a bit, once its under the lip trim, it shouldn't be visible.

Lookin good. :D I think that the colours and the combination of mk1 grill and badgeless bonnet really make it stand out.
