I've watched it for a few years now and I love it.

I follow the New York Giants.

Great sport once you understand it all.

Can I be the first to say that they're obviously a bunch of homosexuals, what with all that body armour and tarting around sucking oxygen after running 20 yards up a field. All the americans I know that have been over here and seen a game of rugby go home and realise how C**p their version is...

Haha.

Oh dear.

I went to watch it at Wembley earlier this year and it was a real spectacle. It takes some getting into I admit, but people don't give it time.

There's a reason why they wear helmets and pads though, and it's not because they are "homosexual". It's because most of them are six foot plus and over 20 stone, and if they are to avoid serious injury then it's kind of a neccessity!

I can pretty much guarantee you that the average rugby player will be nowhere near the size of the average NFL player. I'm not having a dig at Rugby I quite like that too, but the NFL isn't quite as soft as some people make out!

Well said sir.

NFL is pants, if you want an "american" sport with attitude, skill and losing teeth, look at the NHL, more of a sport :proud:

Ive just seen this thread and i thought i just had to reply, i played for my uni's team (Huddersfield Hawks) American Football team and i used to play rugby a little and i used to think American Football is just a sport for wimp's....but how wrong i was, yeah you may wear padding and helmet, but it still hurts like hell, in rugby you dont run the full length of a field and hit a guy, you set off at close range dont get full momentum, you can only tackle from the wasit downwards in Rugby where as i can clothes line you in American football and its a legal tackle, i myself am 6ft 1 and 16 stone and was a defensive lineman and i was small there are guys who are best part of 20+ stone and 6ft 5+

Think what you may about the sport but please dont judge it till you have tried it, its like judging people before you have even spoke to them.....

maybe they look small because the field is big (twice the size of a rugby field i think)

Yeah I didn't put it up for it to be slated.

Just seeing if I share a common interest with anybody!

Eagles have had it tough this year.
