Afternoon all,

Currently I have a standard (ish) 998, but in a year or so that's going to change. :D
What I'm wondering is, where do people go for their insurance when they have lovely non-standard forced induction engines? And how does it work? I guess you have to give a list of the spec of your engine and the company comes up with a figure?

Just interested to know really. I guess I'll find out when I've finished my lovely non-standard forced induction engine, but it would be good to know beforehand.

Ta very much,

Nick

I've used the usual suspects, Herts Insurance and Adrian Flux, both of which have been ok. I've heard good things about Miniworld insurance, though i've not used them.
Had to give a full spec list with every mod on for the agreed value.

phil, miniworld is HIC dude :dontgetit:

I'm with them on the mini and can't fault them, pay about £300 a year with the agreed value, breakdown, legal, 10,000 miles, etc etc.

Although they wanted £965 to insure my crx so i went elsewhere, lol.

Yeah, bit odd that!

As the mini is also more nickable and (probably these days) more desirable too.

Anyway thanks for the response guys.

Bud666, that's seriously cheap, are you about 50 with 30 years no claims...? :)

My mates mini turbo is insured with HIC with an agred valve of £25,000 is stored in a locked and alarmed garage, has specilist breakdown cover and agreed milage of 3000 a year (which it never does) and he is only paying just under £200 a year fully comp.

haha, nope i'm 26 dude but i've been driving since i was 17 without any claims.

i really couldn't understand why they wanted that much for the crx, the mini is a lot more modified, quicker, worth more money etc. ended up with some company off confused.com for £260 on the crx.

Ah that'll be the difference then - I'm 26 and have also been driving since I was 17 but I had to get a whole new front end for my mini when I crashed it into the back of someone one cold sleepy morning a couple of years ago.

OK so at least it looks like I'm not going to be too out of pocket insurance-wise when I get my beast.

Good good
